PRODUCT ABSTRACT
With a typical content of up to 93%, Lemon Myrtle’s range of citral is higher than that of Tea Tree Oil. It may be used for diffusion in the sick room. Lemon Myrtle is native to the humid region in eastern Australia and is a relatively new essential oil to the West, its citral content only being discovered in 1889. However, the aboriginal peoples of New South Wales had traditionally used it to flavor their cuisine as well as medicinally, wrapping the leaves around wounds to facilitate healing. It soon began to be used commercially to flavor lemonade, and its fresh-tasting leaves are still used in a popular Australian tisane.
